Gutted ... mate .... never really came through. I rigged 8.5m GTX and the
Manta 75, and wind with tide downwind trip looked more likely than powered
up sunshine session ... Graham rigged his 10.6m & Formula board, and came
out. Wind was pretty marginal, but had all the signs for filling in as it
did friday ... Graham got planing okay, and then so did I and we were
blasting around the bay, but I was conscious of making ground upwind, so no
real downwinder speed action. In fact it was only me and graham who managed
to get planing at all, despite a few others giving it a go. At one point
even Graham decided to switch to his 8m & AHD 77 Diamond combo seeing that
I was planing more regularly, but he couldn't get that going at all and
quickly reverted to his formula set up ! Guess that highlighted how early
the Manta 75 & GTX 8.5m combo gets up and going
Loads going on in the bay which was cool, glorious sunny day, just a shame
it never really came through..... and it looked so much like the thermal
top up would give us 6m weather from 3-4pm ish ... ho hum
Came home to watch an exciting footy match ... Trinidad & Tobago v's Sweden
... what a game ... I heard england snuck a win with an own goal of a
Beckham freekick ... at least there were no penalties ... time to see if
Ivory Coast can recover against the Argies ... they look the more
entertaining side to watch so who knows
